We’ve had questions from some of our supporters about the impact of the Mayor’s proposed 2012 budget on House of Ruth. We appreciate this concern for the women and children we serve. It is too soon to tell what the effect on our programs will be.  The Mayor’s proposal is the opening move in the budgeting process. Now, it is up to the City Council to develop their proposed adjustments to the budget.

Christel Nichols will testify before the Committee on Public Safety and the Judiciary in April on the impact of any cuts on our housing and services for women and children who are abused. We will keep you apprised as the budget process unfolds.
