Everything the women and children accomplish at House of Ruth
is possible only because of the generosity of our donors.

INVEST IN EXCELLENCE

Thousands of individuals and hundreds of organizations contribute financially to House of Ruth. Their gifts provide a better future for the 600+ women and children at House of Ruth. These private donations account for nearly half of our $7.8 million budget. The rest is secured from local and federal government agencies, through competitive grants and contracts.

THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO GIVE:

Donate by Credit Card:  You can donate right now using our secure server!  Please make your gift today! 

Write a Check:  Make it out to House of Ruth and mail it to us at 5 Thomas Circle, NW, Washington, DC 20005.

Become a Monthly Donor:  You can sustain your giving throughout the year by joining our Partner’s Program. Partners give a specified amount every month via credit card, personal check or by using the online bill paying service from their bank. Send an email to Director of Development Carolyn Stevens at cstevens@houseofruth.org to get the details. It’s easy, and once you join you’ll be consistently helping women and children to build safe and stable lives.

Secure a Matching Gift at Work:  Many employers, especially large organizations, have a program whereby the company will match all or a part of your donation to a charity. Ask your Human Resources Department for details. It’s a great way to double your gift!

Participate in Workplace Giving:  If your employer runs a campaign encouraging you to make charitable gifts through payroll deduction, you can designate House of Ruth to receive your gifts! For the CFC (Combined Federal Campaign), we are # 83599. For all other campaigns, e.g. America’s Charities, Global Impact, United Way, etc., select House of Ruth from the list provided or write in our name, address and tax ID number:

Important Note: If your employer runs a United Way Campaign, the write-in box is in the bottom right corner of the form. You must give at least $100 for the year or the United Way will not send us your gift!

Transfer Stock:  Here's the information you will need. Remember to donate shares that you have held for more than a year and that have appreciated in value in order to maximize the tax benefits to you of your gift.

Bequest in Your Will:  Many donors include their favorite charities in their estate plans. You can make a bequest of a specific amount or give from your residual estate (what is left over after all the specific bequests are satisfied).

Annuities, Trusts and Other “Planned Gifts”:  If you’re over 50, your alma mater has probably written to you and described the various forms of “planned gifts” you can make. We can do them too! RECOGNITION:

House of Ruth depends upon the generosity of more than 20,000 donors. Obviously, we can’t meet them all. But we do make a special effort to reach out to our most generous donors.

Donors of $1,000 - $4,999 per year are recognized in House of Ruth’s President’s Circle. Those who give $5,000 per year or more are recognized in the Leadership Circle.

If you join the President’s Circle or the Leadership Circle, your name (or that of your organization) will be listed in our Annual Report (unless anonymity is requested). Also, you will have an open invitation to visit our programs. Visitors come away excited about the power of their gifts to help women, children and families forge safe, stable lives.
